Don’t invite mold into your Orlando home!

Of course you wouldn’t be sending out an invitation, but you may be opening the door for mold to make it’s way into your Orlando home. One of the worst things you could do to compromise the indoor air quality, is to open your windows. The main purpose of the air conditioner is just that, condition the air in your home. Let’s say you have a good indoor air envelope (meaning the air quality you are breathing in your Orlando home is good), and you decide to open your windows to let that “fresh air” in. Sometimes that is OK to do, but not this time of the year. With all the rain and standing water we’ve had in central Florida in the last month or so the mold counts are very high in the outdoor air. By opening your windows you are letting those high levels of mold spores into your Orlando home. The air conditioner is where they will end up and possibly grow from there. Think about the environment around you before you open those windows. There are sometimes throughout the year where the levels of mold spores are low and opening your windows isn’t such a bad idea.
